Wolf and I

Btw, we're kinda obsessed with this song. And have listened to it on repeat multiple times (no really, about 89 in total in the last 3 days). Could be a really good one for a fashion show? (Or just the soundtrack of my life ..)

Been busy lately

Hello!

Sorry we haven't updated. It's been busy lately. B's currently working on a launch party for Dress To Kill Magazine in Toronto. It will be held at Briscola a new Italian joint up on College so drop by, have a look if you're looking for a nice place for lunch.

On a side note, I'm busy working out a new Men's wear collection called Knotical. Based on classical boat-wear with a twist, it will be launched at the Wanderlust Fashion Show on April 13th. I'll keep you updated but be sure to check it out!

And last but not least, I've got some new work. Been working mostly with Illustrator with a little bit of Photoshop on the side. Now:

Maybe I'm not fluent enough with Illustrator - but compared to Photoshop, I find the program lacking. Why is it that when layers are merged / grouped, it looses all its transparency settings? Maybe it's because I started in Photoshop and am accustom to using a billion layers, but it seems in all my work, I always end up with about 30 which I can't then merge .. because then all my transparency effects would go away. Hopefully in CS6 this problem will get fixed? Anddd ... [/nerdy rant]

If you'd like to have a copy of the pattern above ... for whatever reason - I'd send you the large .JPG file. Just let me know. Might eventually turn the floral patterns into a .ABR as well - once I get a collection together. So look out for it!

counting down to summer (#1)

Free People February - FP Girls from FreePeople on Vimeo.

I think I always start wishing for the summer around now. Cause in February all the fully white snow turns into slush and the only thing that survives the streets is Hunters. Shitty.Three more months to go, at least there are pretty things to look forward to.

Oh, and then there are these.

Oh pingu~

I'm so obsessed with nail art. And penguins. So I thought I'd throw them on my nails.

So the base coat was First Class Ticket from Chinaglaze
I did French White from Sally Hansen on top with Orange #2 from Urban Outfitters & Blackest Black from Revlon.

I don't usually like crazy things on my nails. But I came across this tumblr which is pretty much quickly changing my mind. Wish my nails were this cool lookin' all the time ..

the best way to feel better is to look at something pretty

So I think I have a slight ear infection. Ew, gross. I know. But on the bright side, it's only a pounding pain in my left ear and the rest of me is fine-ish. I've noticed how in the winter months, I pretty much have a permanent cold - which last year caught me the H1N1. All through high school, it ensured that I was miserable during exam period.

And this year it's stomach flu & ear infection. Hip hip horray. So I decided to take a "personal health day" off.

I don't know what most people do on these days - but I'm a nerd. So I catch up on all my deviantart. Which I do everyday anyways ... but more intensively on sick days. So I thought I'd share my favorites.

`Thienbao on Deviantart has been one of my favourites for as long as I can remember.

There is just something about the way she paints which is absolutely gorgeous.

When I was really really really getting into the whole graphic/web design blah blah thing back in high school, Vectoring (Illustrator) / Vexeling (Photoshop) was extremely popular. There were like whole communities dedicated to them - they might still exist now and I guess I just no longer follow them. But this one was done by my dear friend Stella aka `thursdaymorning. Who is not only a master of vexelling - but also of other really cool things.

Yah. She's supa cool. Now.

I'm also insanely obsessed with this OMFG gorgeous girl Victoria Yun, photographed by `hakanphotography

She's just unreal.

Pretty much what anyone would look like if they had a Korean mother & a Russian father I suppose.

And last but not least, `ethe. Who's special form of surrealism always makes me so happy.

I love goldfish. Don't you love goldfish?

Anyway, what do you guys do on sick days? I'd love to see what kind of cool things you find when you have a little too much time on your hands.

Snow days are (not yet) over

It's apparently supposed to snow today. Something like 30 centimeters? Because we're Canadian and this is considered a "normal" occurrence life goes on ... in snow boots. Unfortunately.

Usually I just throw in the ugliest, biggest sweaters I can find. But there are apparently people who manage to stay good lookin' despite the cold:

The ideas behind Ideology

So I've been asked to elaborate on the concept of "IDLGY" - which is actually the shortened (and voweless) form of the word "Ideology" (just in case you didn't realize).

I came up with the name during the summer while I was bouncing around ideas for a future jacket line. One of my design philosophies (or what little philosophy I have) for design is that our cloths are an extension of our personalities. Of course in which case, everyone's perfect jacket would be custom made. However, as that is impossible, I settled for jackets which are inspired by people I know. I emphasis on functionality. A great jacket should be versatile - but completely suited to what someone does. After all, the perfect jacket endures after years and years of wearing!

From that, I created the first "the ideology jacket". It was designed for both me and my cousin with whom I share many style ideas. We both love chic, slightly futuristic but classically tailored garments that fit well and that we can throw on over any outfit to finish up a look or just to add a bit of interest. The jacket features quilting details, a versatile & removable front panel and of course, the most wonderful leather.

This jacket will be going into production sometime this year - and hopefully available online for your purchasing pleasures soon! If you'd like to custom order the jacket (in a specific size / colour), please email me and let me know!

Also, for future jackets - I'm looking for inspiration. So if you're on the market for your perfect jacket, drop me a note and let's chat!

On that note, stay tuned for future ideology jackets!
